Tri-County Ford in Buckner, Kentucky is the first dealership
in the state to convert its paint operation to an environmentally friendly
waterbourne base coat from DuPont Refinish. This coincides with the state
of the art Nova Verta down draft paint booth with velocity cure that we
are now using. Nova Verta is a top of the line energy saving system, which
is good news for the local community since waterbourne products dramatically
reduce the amount of solvent and volatile organic compounds (VOC) that
would otherwise evaporate into the air.
The federal government recently announced its Climate Change Plan for
reducing green house gas emissions by 18 percent by the year 2010. As
part of the plan, the federal government will bring forward a regulation
to limit VOC content in automotive refinish coatings in Canada by January
1, 2009. Tri-County Ford voluntarily made the switch well ahead of the
required timing and is happy to embrace the green technology.
Waterbourne base coat technology is not new, in fact, it's the standard
for vehicle manufacturers and is currently used at more than 70% of auto
assembly plants worldwide. DuPont waterbourne paints meets the strict
standards set by your vehicle manufacturers to ensure that the value remains
at its highest possible level.
We are not meeting standards, we are setting them at Tri-County Ford.
