2012 Ford Flex - Obeys Traffic Rules. Breaks All Others.
Key Features:
- Available SYNC allows you to easily operate most popular MP3 players
and Bluetooth®-enabled phones with simple voice commands. SYNC even
keeps you safe out on the road with 911 Assist and Vehicle Health Report.
911 Assist connects you to a 911 operator through your paired mobile
phone after an accident in which an airbag deploys, while Vehicle Health
Report allows you to create a personalized online report of your vehicles'
diagnostics. And now, SYNC adds Traffic, Directions and Info.* Get real-time
traffic updates, turn-by-turn navigation and business search right through
your vehicle's stereo. Plus, hear your favorite content anytime you
want with personalized news, weather and sports. Access it all with
either touch or voice commands. SYNC optional in Flex SE and standard
in Flex SEL, Limited and Titanium.
*This feature is upgraded to the SIRIUS Travel LinkTM if you opt for
the available voice-activated Navigation System.
- SIRIUS offers SIRIUS Satellite Radio® with more than 130 channels
of music, news, sports and more, as well as integrated SIRIUS Travel
Link with the available voice-activated Navigation System and both features
with an introductory 6-month subscription. Travel Link provides real-time
traffic information, current and forecast national weather information,
gas prices and stations, live sports scores and schedules, and movie
times with theater locations.* On top of all that, it has a 10GB hard
drive so you can store approximately 2,400 songs. Browse your music
with your fingertips on the touch screen or use voice activation to
play back a track.
Standard on Flex Limited and Titanium.
*Real-time traffic monitoring available in select markets. Some features
are unavailable while driving. Service available in the 48 contiguous
United States and the District of Columbia. SIRIUS is a trademark of
SIRIUS XM Radio, Inc.
- If you're the kind of person who just can't get enough natural light,
the multi-panel Vista Roof option will definitely be on your list of
must-have features. The available Flex Vista Roof consists of four skylights
covering all three rows of occupants. A power moonroof sits over the
1st row. The 2nd row has two openings. And a larger single skylight
is over the 3rd row.
- Increasing performance at the expense of fuel economy is easy enough.
But that concession is not in the thinking of Ford's no compromise approach
to engineering. Excellent case in point: the available EcoBoost twin
turbo charged, direct-injected V6 engine. The economy of a V6 with the
power of a V8 that's what EcoBoost delivers,* and it can do it with
regular (87 octane) fuel. How is this achieved? EcoBoost combines Direct
Injection (DI) technology and turbocharged performance. DI is designed
to produce a cooler, denser charge that generates more power per every
drop of fuel. The boost from the twin turbochargers provides the enhanced
performance you'd expect from a higher displacement engine. Also contributing
to the engine's efficiency: gear ratios that are calibrated for more
low-end torque (max. @1,500 rpm) along with increased overdrive economy;
and a power steering system that doesn't drain engine power. The 3.5L
EcoBoostâ„¢ V6 engine, available on Flex SEL, Limited and Titanium,
is teamed with the traction and handling of Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
*EPA-estimated 00 city/00 hwy mpg. Power ratings: 355 hp @ 5,700 rpm;
350 lb.-ft. of torque @ 1,500 rpm with premium fuel.
- If you go with the available 2nd-row 40/40 bucket seats, you can also
get the optional 2nd-row refrigerated console. Unlike systems that just
keep beverages cool, the compressor-driven unit in Flex can chill up
to seven 12-oz. cans, four half-liter bottles or two 20-oz. bottles
down to 41°F. There's also a freeze mode that'll go down to 23°F. Available
on Limited and Titanium models.
- Both Flex Limited and Titanium models are equipped with a standard
Rear View Camera. The camera automatically displays an image of what's
behind you on the center dash display panel when you put the gearshift
selector in reverse. It also displays red, yellow and green guidelines
which line up with the white lines of a parking space, helping to guide
you in.
